Hardline Former Legislator J.A. Kast Voted In as Chile's New Head of State.
Following a conclusive runoff election, hardline candidate José Antonio Kast has secured the presidential office in Chile.
A Resounding Victory
After more than 99% of votes tallied, Kast won 58.17% of the ballots, beating leftist candidate Jeannette Jara, who received 41.83%.
This marks Kast's third bid for the presidency, having in the past been lost by the current president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 final vote.
Platform Focused On Law and Order and Immigration
