I'll stamp all over 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the usual confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really proceeding.
