Curtis Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players following the fallout from his recent interview.

He was omitted from a vital match subsequent to voicing frustrations and stating his relationship with manager had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”

The head coach has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Looking Ahead

The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” Jones added.

Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the period after the interview fallout. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.

“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
